Runaway Bay Miniature Golf
Indulge in a whimsical miniature golf journey amidst the seaside allure of Myrtle Beach. With two separate layouts, Runaway Bay has something for everyone to enjoy! Featuring a creative Jamaican theme, the first layout, Cockpit Country, includes elements like caves and waterfalls while the second course, Dunns River Falls, begins underneath a waterfall and winds through a mountain.
After a long day on the mini golf course, you can relax with a hand-dipped Hershey’s Ice Cream at the on-site ice cream parlor. The party room at Runaway Bay also makes a great place to host family parties or church outings. The space, located upstairs over the clubhouse, is equipped with tables, chairs, and a fridge and can accommodate groups of up to 30 people.
Disc Golf
For a lighthearted golf experience, try a round at Tupelo Bay’s Disc Golf course. This unique sport involves throwing plastic “golf discs” into aboveground steel baskets, much like the popular game of ball golf played on a regular golf course. The goal is to complete the 18-hole Par 3 course in as few throws as possible, avoiding the “out of bounds” areas. It’s a great way to get exercise while having fun with the whole family.
Tupelo Bay also offers a 9-hole lighted golf course, a putting green, and golf lessons from PGA professionals. The golf center also has a driving range with a 0.75-mile (1.2-kilometer) grass-hitting area simulating an actual course.
The Tupelo Bay Golf Center is about 10 miles (16 kilometers) south of Myrtle Beach. It’s easy to reach by car from the Grand Strand, with most resorts offering free parking for guests staying at their properties.
